The Gardiner Chamber of Commerce urges Montana papers to refrain from publishing reports of early Yellowstone snow before November 1. The request targets daily papers in Butte Livingston Billings and a Livingston weekly.

The State Examiner's annual report accuses Anaconda of paying police salaries from parks and band funds and cites repeated budget-law violations. Examiner Leuthold notes officials have repeatedly promised corrections since 1958 through 1961, with no action taken, and references prior exams under R. E. Towle.
