Minimum Wage Hike Is Dead Butte Gun Wound Fatality
James E. Kenny, 32, of the Argyle Hotel, died Tuesday afternoon from a gunshot wound ruled accidental by County Coroner Andy Aleksich. It was the second fatality in three days in Butte, following Wallace Johnson, 22, who died Sunday after being wounded with a rifle at 316% W. Porphyry. Kenny was visiting his father at 520 S. Montana. the .22 rifle was on the kitchen floor near a mop and roofing paper. The coroner said Kenny likely reached for the gun, causing the discharge. Kenny, a Butte native, attended St. Patrick School and Butte High, served in the Navy, and is survived by relatives in Montana, Ireland, England, and New York. The body rests at Daly-Shea Mortuary.
