Cambridge Massachusetts report notes researchers at MIT say the first man made gene, created in bacteria, is vastly simpler than a human gene. The human gene contains millions of parts, indicating substantial gaps to replicate for humans.
President Ford tours Yellowstone National Park site where he served as a ranger in 1936 and plans a $1.5 billion parks and recreation program. He will speak near Old Faithful then fly to Ellsworth AFB for an open house before returning to Washington.
Three American Rockwell International employees were killed in a Tehran suburb ambush as gunmen opened fire on their car during morning traffic. Patrick Dor Roberts, 26, and his wife Lorri, 22, died Friday night when their car left a gravel county road near Merritt Hill and rolled several times. The couple, married in 1973, were Bozeman residents with families in Bozeman and surrounding areas. Funeral services set for Tuesday at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel Bozeman.
Monte Johnson discovered a $1 million check on a sidewalk near the Federal Reserve Bank in Salt Lake City. The check belonged to Isaac McQueen, office manager for the city treasurer, who said his heart sank when he realized it was missing.
