Girl Trapped in Milk Can Rescued Near Hopkinsville
In Hopkinsville Kentucky 4-year-old Deborah Faye McCain became wedged head first inside a 10 gallon milk can on her father Carl McCain’s milk route. Workmen used hack saws and snips to free her after about an hour and a half. She could not move her shoulders but remained unharmed. The father calmed her with an ice cream cone after rescue.

Gibbon Pass Road Will Be Built In Montana Idaho
The U S Bureau of Public Roads plans an eight mile highway linking the Big Hole Battlefield area in Montana with the Salmon River canyon in Idaho. Bids for 7 753 miles of work open Sept 10 in Helena. The project includes grade gravel and four bridges with oiling later. It crosses Lime Pass on the Continental Divide and shortens the Wisdom Highway 93 route by about five miles. The new road will open forests to harvest and is a federal state forest highway project maintained by the states.
