Vietnam vet ends siege of Cleveland skyscraper

Ashby Leach, 30, an unemployed Vietnam veteran from Huntington West Virginia, released nine hostages he had held for nine hours on the 36th floor of Terminal Tower in Cleveland. He surrendered after agreeing to Chessie System Inc. GI benefits demands and after networks aired his plea. Police said the hostages were unharmed and Leach surrendered calmly following a brief scuffle outside.

Craft unions vote strike against city in Butte talks
