Montana Power Co plans a 5 million dollar transmission line and storage project to import Canadian natural gas from Alberta and Southern Gas Co. The 60 mile line will connect Alberta Gas Trunk Line to Montana Power at Cut Bank and supply about 10.9 million cubic feet daily. The Federal Power Commission recently authorized imports that will expand Montana Power's reserves by about 274 billion cubic feet over 25 years.

Martha Schumacher vice president of the New Butte Butchering Co. died Thursday at her home 2205 Oregon after a brief illness. She was 78 and longtime Mining City resident.
