California Man Dies in Dillon Wreck on Highway 91

Herbert Y. Havre Man Slain by Firearm in Domestic Case

Lynn Springer, 26, was shot in the chest with a 16 gauge shotgun late Saturday in Havre. Curtis Dennie, 54, a railroad worker, was jailed on suspicion of murder as Sheriff R D Timmons labeled the episode family trouble. Dennie allegedly shot after warning Springer to stay away from Dennie s divorced daughter. Springer's death occurred at Sacred Heart Hospital after arriving from the Denny residence. No inquest is planned. charges expected Monday. Dennie s wife and the couple s children witnessed the event. Springer had been engaged to the daughter, a telephone operator. the engagement ring was with the mother. Donnie notified police immediately after the shooting.
