Two Die In Montana Traffic Crash Near Geraldine
In Geraldine region Friday night, William L. Hansen age 33 was killed when his pickup struck a bridge between Geraldine and Square Butte after a passing attempt by another driver. Passenger Neil (Bud) Western, 33, suffered serious injuries. two other Geraldine residents, Robert Cartwright and Ivan Davidson, had minor injuries. Montana's 1957 traffic toll rose to 125.

Taber Man Dies From Wolf Creek Crash Near Helena
Virgil Jensen age 50 of Taber Alberta died in Helena hospital after a Friday night crash two miles south of Wolf Creek on U S Highway 91. Passenger Milton Conrad was hospitalized. Injured were three other riders in the Conrad car. Police praised passing motorists who aided at the scene and assisted ambulance crews.

Three Little Sisters Die In Landslide At Quarry
In Dixon Illinois an inquest finds three Gurnsey sisters Nancy ten Ruthie nine and Theresa eight died in an abandoned quarry landslide likely started by a bulldozer operated by their father John Gurnsey. Livingston Man Drowns in River
James Spalding, 29, of Livingston, drowned Saturday when a Yellowstone River canoe overturned seven miles south of Livingston. Coroner Wesley Cloyd said he was fishing with Tom Faher, 28, also of Livingston, in treacherous water. Faher battled the undertow for about an hour and revived Spalding briefly with artificial respiration before he died. Survived by mother, brother, and sister, all in Livingston. no inquest. This marks at least the 32nd Montana drowning this year.

Forest Fire Threatens Small New York Village
A major wildfire near the Canadian border menaced Altona in Plattsburgh area, prompting evacuations of about 50 residents from a 400 population village.
