Father steals plane with two children in escape
In Independence California a desperate husband Henry Billingsley 49 of Lone Pine abducted his two children Jean eight and Harry five from their mother’s home using a stolen Bishop airfield plane. The red and silver craft was later found wrecked south of Lone Pine after an extended pursuit. Sheriff officials planned a ground search as custody had been awarded to the mother making this a kidnapping and an aviation theft.
