Four Idaho men die in plane crash near Boise
The charred bodies of Pilot Paul Engle, boxer Dale Manz, fighter John Maravilla, and manager Kenneth Nichols were found in the wreckage of a Cessna 170 northeast of Boise. The wreckage, located on a forested knoll near Shhaefzer Butte, suggested Engle was attempting to fly up a canyon saddle before the craft stalled and plunged. Authorities said turbulence delayed the initial search. The nose pointed toward Boise, implying a turn-back attempt.
