Anaconda Youth Killed in Friday Motorcycle Crash
John Munson 16 of Anaconda died in a Butte hospital after a Friday night motorcycle crash that left his companion Dan McCarthy 16 in good condition. The youths rode without lights and were struck from behind by a car driven by Cliff Ulstad of Anaconda. An autopsy is ordered. Munson born October 8 1950 attended St Peter School and would have been a senior at Anaconda Central. Requiem Mass planned at St Peter Church with Rosary in St Peter.

More than 1,000 firefighters battled weeklong fires in Glacier National Park as thunderstorms and 30 to 40 knot winds threatened progress.
