Butte Wreck Fatal to Insurance Man Edward Monahan
Edward Joseph Monahan 41, a Butte insurance adjuster and Navy veteran, died after injuries from a 1:15 a.m. collision on Butte’s South Side. Police identified Edward Kunesh as the truck driver involved. Monahan, a father of ten, died at St James Community Hospital after an auto struck by Kunesh’s truck on Harrison turning east on Grand. He leaves a wife Rose Carey and multiple children, two sisters, and many relatives. Monahan was active with local civic groups including the Butte Elks and Blue Goose Lodge.

Sanders to be charged with murder in Henningsen death
County Attorney Mark P. Sullivan said Sanders, 74, will face a first degree murder charge for the shooting of Robert Henningsen, 44, a Butte furniture dealer. In Hayneville Alabama a white seminary student Jonathan Daniels was killed and priest Richard Mor risree injured by a shotgun blast as Daniels and two Negroes picketed a grocery store. Tom Coleman a white deputy sheriff was taken into custody. authorities said he admitted the shooting. Daniels a Yale graduate studying at Episcopal Theological School Cambridge Massachusetts worked with the Episcopal Society for Cultural and Racial Unity in Selma Alabama. Mor risree age 26 from St Columba Chicago was hospitalized in Montgomery after the incident. The two earlier were released from jail a few hours before and had been detained during last week’s racial demonstrations in Fort Deposit.

Montana Tourist Chief Charles Lee Out Of Hospital
Charles R. Lee president of the Montana Tourist Association was severely cut in a mysterious explosion at his home. He walked on crutches Friday and may continue for some time. The blast damaged one of his two Lincoln Continentals a black 1963 model valued at about $8 000. The car was in the street in front of his home when dynamite exploded on the trunk lid around 1 30 a.m. Thursday. Lee said his white 1958 model has been in his backyard.
