Three new fatalities reported in Montana increase the year’s highway toll to 121, with Martha Rose Lambert, 69, of Vancouver, killed one mile west of Big Timber after a Monday U S Highway 10 overturn. Her husband Joseph A. injured, two others unhurt. Toll stands at 121. a year ago it was 163. Later, Carl Tollefson, 36, of Joplin, died near Chester when his car failed a curve on U S Highway 2. He was alone. toll now 120. Finally, Louis Parenteau, 33, of Columbia Falls, died when his car left the road near Bryan Falls en route to Columbia Falls. he was also alone. Parenteau’s death leaves Montana’s 1957 toll at 119.

Nez Perce Canyon blaze survivor found near rim
Nello Ferrando 47 of 2201 Oak, ill and missing since Sunday afternoon, is found Tuesday afternoon lying between two rocks about 20 feet from a four acre forest fire in Nez Perce Canyon, 12 miles northeast of Butte. He is in critical condition at St. James Hospital with exposure and shock.
