Ore Carrier's Wash Sinks Boat Killing Three

In Chicago a large Lake Michigan ore carrier named Harvester swamped a 14 foot outboard boat in the Calumet River as it docked. Three of the five aboard are feared dead. Two rescued. Names given include Mrs Florence Struthers and Bert Hansen with Jeanette Hansen missing. Survivors are John Struthers and Nicholas Benda.

Pilot Shot While Flying Lands Plane With Two Passengers

Riverside and Rialto based pilot George Bertan was wounded in the left thigh when a shooter fired at his single engine plane near Riverside. Bus Crash Kills 3 Injures 31 in New Jersey

A Public Service bus from Atlantic City to New York crashed on the Garden State Parkway in Wall Township at 50 mph. Three people were fatally injured and 31 others were hurt when the bus skidded 100 yards into a concrete abutment. Firemen used acetylene torches to free five passengers. The dead and injured were transported to Fitkin Memorial Hospital in Neptune.

Two Teen Couples Wed in Mexico After NJ Dance
