Crash Kills Two Butte Residents In Idaho Collision
George Snooky Gergurich 50 operator of the Hi Ho Lounge East Butte was killed and his mother-in-law Gertrude Blagg 68 fatally injured seven miles south of the state line. Blagg died in Idaho Falls hospital. Gergurich owned the Ranchette Motel and lived there. the two were en route to Salt Lake City to visit Gergurich's daughter Paulette whose July 8 marriage to Gary Garrett was reported. The Idaho Highway Patrol said a double semi collided with their car. one trailer and the tractor burned. truck driver uninjured. Gergurich, a noted local sportsman, bowling figure and community member, was born March 24 1911. He built the Ranchette Motel in 1952 and belonged to Holy Savior Church Knights of Columbus Sts Philip and Jacob 165 Western Leader Butte Elks AAA Motels. Surviving relatives include wife Reva deceased two years ago, son-in-law Garrett, sister Catherine Wall, aunt Mary Gergurich, and numerous relatives. Blagg was born June 11 1693 in Galconda Indiana and moved to Butte 45 years ago. she worked at the motel, belonged to Baptist Church and Women’s Protective Union. Her survivors include Garretts Vaughn Parkinson and Addie Gillian of Galconda and Etta Panky of Butte. Bodies are being brought to White's Funeral Home.
