Grouse Fire containment grows as hot spots linger southwest of Wise River

Fire crews push containment on the Grouse Fire near Wise River with 22 percent of the 4166 acre blaze enclosed. Infrared imagery shows isolated heat inside the fire perimeter as crews battle steep beetle-killed terrain. Ten miles southwest of Wise River the fire began July 25 with 212 personnel, six engines, and one bulldozer on scene. Road traffic along Pioneer Scenic Byway carries log and debris removal efforts while crews clear fuels and debris.
