Son Death in Alps: Father Follows After Son

In Foix France AP Yves Rouan 11 slipped while mountain climbing on Saturday and plunged over 1000 feet to his death. Companions alerted Roger Rouan the father who organized a search and went to the fall site. Ronan then lost balance and fell to his death a few feet from his son’s body.

Mothers of 38 Children Crash Victims

Five women mothers of 37 children died in a head on collision on a southwestern Minnesota highway. One woman, the mother of one child, died in the second car. Survivors included Mrs. Ernie Lueck who was seriously injured. Victims included wives of workers and servicemen with children ranging up to 21 years old.

Camp for Butte's Retarded Tots Opens Monday

The first summer camp for mentally challenged children in Butte opens Monday and runs until August 21. Sponsored by Butte Council 106 United Commercial Travelers and the Rocky Mountain Association for Retarded Children, about 30 children are expected. The day camp meets at Kiwanis Sunshine Camp east of Butte with activities daily from 10 a.m. to 3 45 p.m. and bus transport to and from Washington School.

Kalispell Youth Fatally Hurt In Auto Crash

J W Hennessey 20 of Kalispell died in a Great Falls hospital from injuries after a car left the highway 15 miles east of Shelby rolling multiple times. Passenger Carl Knutson 23 remained in critical but stable condition. Montana traffic deaths total 129 for the year.

Great Falls Boy Wounded in Fast-Draw Game

Pat Doyle a 16 year old of Great Falls was seriously wounded in a fast draw game with a sawed off 22 caliber revolver. Alyn Shutt 13 of Francisco admitted firing the gun during a basement room draw. Also involved were James Diezieber Jr. 15 and Wayne Jukulen 14.
