Peter Mikenas father of three year old Albert Mikenas of Ansonia was arrested at a Shelton bakery where he works. Police say he will be held as a material witness after the decomposed nude body bearing marks of foul play was found in a Milford marsh yesterday and he will be questioned thoroughly.
Tex Rankin, Portland aviator, left Vancouver at 4 30 am in the plane Three Flags for a non stop flight along the Pacific coast. He landed at Agua Caliente Mexico at 5 48 pm after circling San Diego and passing over the city about 5 40 pm at about 1000 feet. Rankin was greeted by Mayor Harry Clark of San Diego and others and said fog kept him from ground contact until near Portland. He used 75 gallons of gasoline and encountered warm San Joaquin valley weather and head winds little troubled.
James Bobbett a Chicago Tribune photographer requested a warrant for the arrest of federal prohibition agent B F Mills claiming Mills struck him and blinded his eyes while four agents restrained him Judge John Lyle signaled he would issue the warrant The alleged attack followed a court corridor clash after Judge Lyle postponed the Willard Mogland case Mogland another federal prohibition agent is charged with beating a 60 year old cafe owner during a raid but did not participate in the assault according to Bobbett

J. A. Howard, 23, of Greeley Colorado, died at Murray hospital after falling from a haystack on the Tom Pendergast ranch near Wise River last Friday. He toppled onto a pitchfork causing fatal injuries, an operation was performed but he died about 9 a.m. yesterday. Beaverhead county coroner expected to hold an inquest. Body lies at Sherman Reed parlors pending relatives’ word.
