Montana Wheat Harvest Forecast Shrinks This Year
Montana will harvest 33,450,000 bushels of wheat this year, down from 35,021,000 estimated last month. The 1929 crop yielded 40,098,000 bushels, with a five year average near 57,976,000. Winter wheat averages 9.3 bushels per acre, spring wheat 8, amid premature ripening and early cuts in several counties.

St Louis aviators near endurance flight record

Fire Claims Six Lives In Tennessee Cottage Blaze
In Johnson City Tennessee six people died when a four room cottage burned early today. Charles Witt died from burns after stumbling through flames and timbers. Hugh Witt Jr. and Marie Witt along with his wife and two small children perished in the fire. I C Witt and Paul Reeder were hospitalized in critical condition. Investigators suspect a lighted cigarette started the blaze which spread to stored fire works in a back room. The Witt family had formerly lived in Knoxville and Reeder hailed from Milwaukee.

Anti Barnaspakki Found Guilty of Murder Charge
ANACONDA August 11 Special Anti Barnaspakki was found guilty of first degree murder in the death of Jack Antilla on July 3. Both men were lumber camp workers. The jury deliberated since noon and recommended the court fix the punishment. The verdict will be read to him at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning. Judge George B. Winston presided.
