Sister Mary Aidan Rochford 79 of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth died Sunday at St. James Hospital after a long illness. A native of Mayo Ireland she served 24 years as medical record librarian at St. James Hospital and taught in Butte parochial schools. Surviving: two brothers Thomas and James Rochford a sister Margaret Rochford and nieces and nephews.

Car Train Collision Kills 6 in Five-Generation Pittsburgh Family
MEADVILLE Pa Six members of a Pittsburgh family spanning four generations were killed in a collision between a passenger car and a coal truck. Killed were Elizabeth Malay 27 and her children Theodore Jr 6 Kathleen 5 Anna Marie 3 and Elizabeth Floyd 47 and Anna Hilbert 70. Theodore Malay Sr 28 and Susan Patricia 5 months survived in fair condition.

Second Deer Lodge Escapee Is Caught in Helena
Joe Williams aged 28 an escapee from the Montana State Prison ranch at Deer Lodge was apprehended Sunday in Helena. Police said they were informed Williams and Ben C West aged 41 left the ranch Friday afternoon West was picked up in Deer Lodge shortly after Williams is serving a five year term for grand larceny from Lewis and Clark County.

Bud Hartwig Dies Prominent Dillon Theater Owner
Bud Hartwig 67, former Beaverhead County commissioner and noted Montana theater figure, died Saturday in a Missoula hospital after an illness. Born Sept 27 1890 in Helena, he moved to Dillon in 1914 buying the Scenic Theater and two years later opened the Hartwig Theater later renamed the Roberta. He served two terms as county commissioner 1930 to 1942 then operated in Long Beach before returning to Montana with ventures around Bozeman. Survivors include a son Tom Hartwig of Seattle and daughter-in-law Mrs Paul Chamran of Missoula. Funeral Tuesday at 2 pm Brundage Funeral Home Dillon with burial Mountain View Cemetery.

Fannie Anderson Led Montana Pioneers Dies in Minneapolis
Dr. Fannie Allen Anderson, 94, president of the Montana Society of Pioneers and longtime Minneapolis physician, died Saturday in Minneapolis. Born August 10, 1863 in Newton Iowa, she taught in Willow Creek and Livingston before studying medicine and psychology abroad. She was elected president in absentia at the Anaconda convention and left a $30,000 gift to the Society. Burial is planned in Harrison, Montana.
