Bannack pioneer memories recalled by Montana man

Mrs. French recalls Bannack history and Plummer gang lore, while recounting family ties to early Beaverhead County settlers. Bannack Ghost Town Hosts August Pageant in Montana History

Dillon readers recall Bannack as the 1860s Montana capital founded after Plummer and his vigilantes. The Aug. 15 revival will line Grasshopper Creek with autos while cinema of history depicts the town’s rise, grim lawmen, and eventual shift to Virginia City.

Rock Garden Club meeting on Penstemons and natives

Joan Therese McMahon and Richard E. Hautzinger united in marriage at Immaculate Conception Church on June 26 in a blue and white ceremony. The bride, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. E. S. McMahon, wore a nylon net gown with lace and a chantilly veil, and carried a white rose bouquet. Attendants included maid of honor Alice Stewart, best man Joseph McMahon, ushers George Hautzinger and others. The couple, now living in Montana, left for a honeymoon trip to Banff, Lake Louise, and Jasper.
