City awards paving and lighting contracts in special session
Butte city council awarded paving and lighting contracts totaling about $82,000 in a special improvement session. It approved District No. 374 to pave East Broadway from Thornton avenue to Oklahoma street and opened Field street between Girard and Emmet with a sanitary sewer installation. It also proposed a paving and lighting district on West Porphyry from Excelsior to Emmet with extension to Western Avenue and endorsed intentions to create these districts. The West Park project, supported by Dr. F A Thomson and the State School of Mines backers, is now assured.
