Butte Teen Dies In U S 10 Crash
A 17 year old Butte girl Elisa Soto died late Monday night when the car she rode in went out of control six miles south of Butte on U S 10. Five others suffered only minor injuries as they were thrown from the vehicle. Funeral service for Soto will be Thursday at 7 30 in the Duggan Merrill Dolan Mortuary.

Hoffa family questions Chuckie O'Brien in missing case

Miner Dies at Leonard Mine in Butte
Wayne O. Evans, 31, of 1015 W. Silver, died after reportedly suffocating at the Leonard Mine on the 3600-foot level. The incident, at an Anaconda Co. site, was being investigated by state and federal mine agencies and the county coroner's office. Evans had been reassigned to a different location, his body found in an inactive area unused for months. Coroner Leo Jacobsen, State Mine Inspector Max Salazar, and FAA representatives joined Anaconda Co. officials in the probe.
