Glacier National Park to Host 1960 Governors Conference
Montana Governor J Hugo Aronson announced Glacier National Park will host the 1960 National Governors Conference June 26 to 29 at Many Glacier Hotel Swift Current Lake. It will be the first governors meeting in a national park and Montana’s first. Funds were raised by statewide effort after the 1959 legislature refused $85,000. contributions from business, industries and citizens totaled between $90,000 and $100,000 led by Earl Moritz.
