A large crowd watched cowhands from the West tackle tough bucking stock at the Butte rodeo. The second show drew 8,000 spectators with more Montana and out of state cars parked on the grounds. Tonight’s finale features 8:30 pm rodeo action plus street acts and a 2 pm youngsters matinee.

Helena August 5 Montanas tax bills will be higher next year according to Fred Bennion secretary of the Montana Taxpayers association He cited a study of county city and school budgets forecasting lighter state property taxes but higher city and town levies and a likely overall higher state rate A statewide taxpayers meeting is planned for September as part of the budget review
