Computer scheme costs Army 17 million dollars a year

150 Miners Feared Dead at Moatize Mine Blast

Longtime Anaconda educator James E. Gardner dies at 75
James E. Gardner longtime Anaconda school superintendent and educator died at age 75 in his home at 605 Chestnut. Born January 1 1902 he taught at Anaconda High and led the district from 1956 until retirement in 1971. He earned degrees from Carroll College University of Montana and held roles with St Peter Church Rotary and the Anaconda Teachers' Union. He leaves his wife Mary Peck nine children and 17 grandchildren. funeral arrangements are pending at Finnegan Funeral Home.
