Dillon Aug 4 Special The Beaverhead county high school will open its regular term on September 3 the Tuesday after Labor Day, announced by Principal Conrad Orr. Classes will be held in One Normal College quad occupied last year until the new school is ready, likely late November or December.

Anaconda Forest Fire Held In Check Near Town

District Ranger George M. Fisher reported a small forest fire five miles west of Anaconda contained tonight by 12 forest service personnel and the Anaconda Reduction Works. The blaze, possibly man made, burned on an elevation with wide view and was not dangerous, though still burning at 3:30 p.m. The funeral of Jack Barratt is set for Monday at 9 a.m. with a Requiem Mass at St Marys Church and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
