Graf Zeppelin advances toward United States over Azores

Washington reports the Graf Zeppelin in active flight over the Atlantic on its second night toward the United States. At 7 05 p m eastern standard time she was 90 miles south of Pico Azores, speeding northwest at about 45 knots. Earlier reports placed her 600 miles west of Gibraltar and 63 miles per hour.

Methodist meet speakers include Dr Wilson in Montana

Dr Clarence True Wilson of Washington DC head of temperance and public morals will join the Montana state Methodist conference August 27 to September 1 in Butte. He accused Dr William S Thayer of wet propaganda and challenged him to a prohibition debate. Dr Wilson will speak at Mountain View church August 31.

Autopsy Ordered in Case of Girl Found Dead Here

Isack Morse of Anaconda requested an investigation into the death of his daughter Violet Morse 22. County Attorney Harrison J. Freebourn ordered an autopsy to be held the morning after she was found dead in a Nevada street home. Coroner Mike Salot will assist. authorities gave few suspicions.

Thousands Made Homeless By Flood In Sind

Disastrous floods have left thousands homeless in Sind as several villages flood and rail stations and canal banks shelter the displaced. Fire Threat Looms Over Hatchville Village

In Hatchville near Falmouth Massachusetts a forest fire raced toward the village at midnight with about 200 residents and villagers forming bucket brigades to halt the blaze. Women joined men in efforts as flames closed to within half a mile of Hatchville, threatening destruction.

Montana highway department reports 4.5 million dollar business

Under six percent overhead, the Montana highway department's annual statement shows nearly four and a half million dollars in business for the past fiscal year. Construction contracts let totaled about 1.8 million with additional lettings expected. Payments on construction reached 3,642,802.21, and maintenance of federal aid projects amounted to 525,106.15.

Thoughtless act causes ice cream truck tragedy

In Trenton New Jersey an overturned ice cream truck led to a fatal burn and injuries to 28 people, mostly children. An unidentified man removed the gasoline tank cap enabling fuel to spill and ignite, as the crowd gathered around the burning vehicle.

Man in Butte Brings Foot to Police Station

A man named Ralph E B Dunn entered the Butte police station last night with a partly decomposed human foot he believed came from a person. Police and jailer deemed it an animal limb. the bone was found near the slag dumps on South Montana Street.
