Daniel McGrath Former Mine Inspector Dies
Daniel J. McGrath, longtime Butte resident and former state mine inspector, died after an illness. He lived at 640 S Montana and retired about ten years ago from School District No. 1 employment. Survived by a daughter Kathleen Donahue, son Harold, three grandchildren, siblings in Three Forks Mechanicville and San Francisco, and several nieces and nephews. Body at Daly-Shea Mortuary. Funeral Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Daly-Shea to St Joseph Church with mass at 9:30 and burial in St Patrick Cemetery.

Butte architect Walter Arnold died Monday in a local hospital after months of illness. The body will be moved Thursday to St John Episcopal Church for a 2 pm service with burial at Mountain View Cemetery. Born July 1 1885 in London he practiced in Butte since 1914 designing major Montana buildings. He was a Kiwanis leader and active in fishing derbies for local children.
