An automobile with four bodies including a Minneapolis woman under contempt sentence was found 15 miles south of St Paul in Scott County. The dead are a man, a woman and two children, apparently from monoxide gas. Mrs Genevieve Clark and two children were in the back seat, a blanket over her head. Mr Clark was in the front seat. Montana's first emergency conservation corps recruits will enroll Monday at Fort Missoula. An army officer will visit Butte to examine applicants and send them to Missoula for conditioning, Maj. Walter Root said. State planning includes four 200-man work camps in western Montana forests, with sites near Clearwater River, Thompson River, Olney Stillwater, and Swan Lake.
New York April 27 The Anaconda Copper Mining Company and subsidiaries announce a net loss for 1932 of 16,893,240, down from 3,168,533 in 1931. President Cornelius F. Kelley notes copper demand depends on activity in electrical, telephone, autos, and construction industries amid overall downturn. Current assets total 93,016,361 with about 4.5 million in cash and marketable securities. Current liabilities reach 79,
Reports from Anchorage say St. Augustine island off Kamishak bay blew up and vanished under Pacific waters. The island about 20 miles across lies between the Kenai peninsula and the Aleutian peninsula amid recent strong earthquakes.
