Purples score 52 4-7 points to win the first annual Mining district track meet at Clark park yesterday afternoon. Butte Central High finishes second with 36 points, Beaverhead High is third with 18 4-7, followed by Three Forks 41-2, Whitehall 3, Powell County 2, and Anaconda 1 1-7. Kenneth Duff from Central ties for top honors with two firsts and a third for 11 points, including an unofficial state record in the 100 yard dash at 10 seconds flat. Duff also wins the 440 yard dash, edging teammate Danny Hanley who earns 10 points with surprise firsts in the shot put and high jump.

Cadet Wallace Hart Killed in Texas Flying Crash
Cadet Wallace W. Hart, student pilot at Kelly Field, died in a crash four miles from the airfield after descending from 2500 feet. He was 18 or 19 and the son of Mrs. B. W. Hart of St Louis. Investigators reported the incident occurred last night during advanced flight training.
