Francis X. Monaghan 66 of 17 West Broadway died in a Butte hospital about 4 Thursday morning after being struck by a car Saturday night J J Weber of 2223 Wall turning off Arizona onto Galena struck Monaghan as he stepped off the curb Monaghan a former Postmaster boxer and brother of ex Congressman Joseph P Monaghan had been in hospitals and an autopsy was performed but results will be released next week An inquest is pending He is survived by a daughter and son in Houston sisters in Butte and California brothers in Butte and Washington burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery with services at St Joseph Church and a parish prayer service at Dolan's Mortuary.

Inquest Continues into Boys Death in Wreck North of Divide
An inquest into the death of 8 year old Daniel James McNaughton of Riverton Utah was continued to May 6 after 22 hours of testimony. Tom McNaughton father drove the pickup involved in the April 19 collision on U S 91 seven miles north of Divide. His son and a younger sister were asleep in the back of the canopy-covered 1962 pickup while Mrs McNaughton rode in the cab.

A traffic crash near Butte involving Tompkins in a 1967 model car and a pickup left a McNaughton boy trapped under the truck and died from chest and abdominal injuries. Highway Patrolman Lemm testified Tompkins attempted to pass the pickup in a passing zone and that excessive speed was not involved. Tompkins was handcuffed after initially denying drive status.
