Butte man C. W. Hogart of 414 Warren avenue discovered a double egg inside a single shell while preparing breakfast. He brought both eggs to the Standard office to prove the odd find. The outer egg was normal in size and the inner egg resembled a large lima bean.
J W Schnitzler a 49 year old Froid banker state senator and republican national committeeman and his pilot A L Hedberg 24 were killed when their plane crashed into a hillside near Woody Island creek about 50 miles northwest of Malta during a rainstorm They planned to fly to Havre for Schnitzler’s annual plane inspection Hedberg recently passed a pilot exam at Minot N D and may not have held a license Schnitzler led local banks and politics and was to seek re election as national committeeman on May 16 The crash details appeared via a page one report with continuation note on the next page
