Forest Service to close five major offices in reorganization
Agriculture Secretary Earl L Butz announced a broad Forest Service restructuring that will shutter five major offices affecting about 1000 employees. Regional offices in Missoula Albuquerque and Ogden along with Ogden and Asheville experiment stations will close with phased staff reassignment by June 30 1974. Lower offices remain and efforts will place workers elsewhere while improving efficiency in resource management and forestry programs.
