Farm Laborer's Wife Delivers 24th Child in Rapid City
The 40 year old wife of farm laborer James Big Crow on Pine Ridge Reservation gave birth to Brenda, their 24th child. Nineteen children survive. ten pairs of twins and two other twins. Court delays Paul Cor appeal in murder case
Helena AP report says Paul Cor's appeal from his 1961 first degree murder conviction in Silver Bow County will not be argued before the State Supreme Court. Chief Justice James T. Harrison hopes to reset for a May hearing after the May 12 session was vacated due to lawyers attending a civil trial in Great Falls. Cor killed Shari Mee-Ewen, 16, whose body was found in a gully near Butte after her death on June 10, 1960. The lower court record spans 17 volumes and 1,595 pages.
