Milltown water right may aid Clark Fork trout

The Milltown Dam removal in 2008 freed a water right now used to support an instream flow fishery effort in the upper Clark Fork and Blackfoot basins. Co owned by Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks and CSKT, the right becomes enforceable April 24 with 2025 focus on planning and outreach as three May meetings outline an implementation framework for the river system.

Montana Senate OKs Education Funding Push With GOP Backing

Senate Democrats and nine Republicans advanced a multi race education package totaling millions, sending four bills to the governor. The efforts come after a partisan spending package exceeded the prior two year budget by about 17 percent, sparking Republican quips about overspending and bipartisan support despite party leadership. House Bill 515 by Rep. Linda Reksten would increase state funding to school districts for maintenance and infrastructure repairs.
