Helena AP report says no progress Friday eve and no arrests in a $37,600 armed bank robbery at the First National Bank and Trust Co. FBI involvement noted. Bank president Nels Turnquist says 90 percent agreement on the robber’s description. the gunman, calm and well dressed, appeared unfamiliar with the bank and may have had a car. Turnquist and cashier Russell Smith were forced to accompany him for about a block and a half before release. No distress signals detected. The case remains under investigation with limited statements from police.

Scout Drowns During Yellowstone River Outing
An 11 year old Boy Scout Don Schreiber is missing and presumed drowned after wading with companion Monte Anderson near County Park three miles east of Billings Montana. Anderson, 11, said Schreiber slipped into deep water and was swept away while they returned to shore. Scoutmaster Clyde Clark reported cries for help but could not reach the river in time. Schreiber had joined the troop three weeks ago.

Thomas A. Vires, 23, of 707 1/2 E Galena, died Saturday afternoon at the Badger Mine 1,600 feet underground in a motor transportation accident while attempting to relocate a derailed ore car.
