Jewish councilmen to run new Jerusalem authority
Six Jewish councilmen will replace a British headed commission in the Jewish sector as the new municipal authority. Friday saw bitter fighting along a 20 mile arc on the north western edge of Jerusalem with Haganah claiming Beit Iksa and Shufat were captured while police in Ramaleh reported a Jewish assault aided by armored cars resisted with over 100 Jewish casualties and at least six Arab deaths. Arabs were said to have seized three armored cars.

Country Club Plans Dancing Series
Initial plans for a series of dances during the 1948 49 season were made Thursday night at a committee meeting at the Butte Country club. Twenty members of the committee headed by Rex Henningsen and Mrs. Lloyd Crippen attended the session. The committee divided into groups to develop suggested plans.
