Jawbone believed from human jawbone found near Wise River
A man excavating a septic system in southern Anaconda Deer Lodge County found a bone likely from a human jawbone. Police will have a Missoula officer retrieve it for forensic testing in Billings while investigators assess whether it relates to any missing person. The site lies off Bear Gulch Road near Highway 43 by the Big Hole River, about 10 miles west of Wise River.

Anaconda Man Dies From Single Stab Wound
DeQuan Watson, 27, died April 10 in Anaconda from a stab wound to the right chest puncturing both lungs and the heart arteries, per Montana State Crime Lab autopsy. Leann Malcolm, 27, pleaded not guilty to deliberate homicide and evidence tampering in Anaconda court. she remains jailed on a $1 million bond. The alleged homicide occurred at a Cherry Street residence after a domestic disturbance. Malcolm reportedly called police claiming she killed Watson after accusing him of sexually abusing their infant.
