Charles Huff of Shelby receives four months and a $350 fine for smuggling liquor linked to a pistol duel. Ed Wallace, 72, of Lewistown, gets a suspended sentence for possession.
Dr E C McGuire returning from Europe warns Germany may not meet reparations if export expansion does not occur. He notes Schacht’s stance reflects Germany’s need to borrow to cover about 396 million dollars annually and ongoing reliance on foreign credit since the Dawes plan.
