Funeral services for Thomas Astle a 25 year resident of Anaconda were held at St Mary church in Livingston on Wednesday morning. He died Sunday at St Ann hospital. Freedom Train visits Montana cities amid crowds
A billings crowds watched the seven car red white blue special exhibition of the Freedom Train on its Montana tour with about 10 000 people in Billings and large groups of children traveling via special trains. BILLINGS April 21 The Intake project near Glendive set crop production records in 1947. The project yielded 20309 dollars in crops, 4000 more than 1946, with 288 irrigated acres. Average return per acre dropped to 70.83 from 88.41. New construction has expanded the project to 840 acres.

Teresa Symons Passes Away in Mining City
Teresa Symons 444 West Broadway died Wednesday at home after a long illness. A Newark, New Jersey native, she had lived in the Mining City for 40 years. Survived by a son and daughter-in-law Mr and Mrs Blaina Thompson of San Francisco and a brother and sister Mr and Mrs Henry Hughes of Butte. The body is at Duggan Mortuary.

Federal Education Aid Promised by Montana Officials
Helena April 21 Execu tive Secretary M F Moe of the Montana Education association said Montanans will pay about 690 000 as Montana's share of the federal aid to education bill. He projected a return of about 945 000 to the state arguing the money would replace other taxes and not raise total US tax load. Moe noted Montanans pay .33 of 1 percent of federal taxes and warned planning should consider longer term populations and school needs.

Monkeys Miss Shrine Parade After Billings Travel Trouble
In Billings two monkeys Maggie and Jiggs failed to appear for a Shrine ceremonial parade due to money shortages. Their owner Earl Roe planned to send them by train, but the animals fled after a Dublin Gulch split.
