Snow Closes Montana Passes and Rails Through Mountains
The Associated Press reports nearly two feet of new snow across Montana mountain regions with Red Lodge at 19 inches and MacDonald Pass 16 inches in two days. Republicans to draft Montana platform in Great Falls

Marines Repel Viet Cong Assault Near Da Nang
In Da Nang area operations 375 miles north of Saigon Marines repelled a Viet Cong attack. Mortars opened fire on two Marine guns then Marines used 155 mm artillery to silence them. The Viet Cong death by own action squad charged Marine positions and suffered heavy losses, with at least 16 killed.
