Butte High Honors 180 Students on Large Honor Roll
One of the school’s largest honor rolls was announced yesterday at Butte High. One hundred eighty students, 12 percent of the total enrollment, are listed on the first and second rolls for the past semester. Forsyth reports Peter Kessel a 102 year old rancher from Lee recovering after removal of a leg tumor under local anesthesia. He comfortably walked from the surgeon's office to a car and rode home. Kessel a Russia native immigrated 40 years ago and worked in coal mining before settling in Rosebud county with his 87 year old brother Joe.

Five Children and Grandmother Die in Fire in South Bend
A 78 year old grandmother Mrs Mary Gooley and five children died when a small frame dwelling burned in South Bend Indiana.
