FBI charges King death plot across multiple states
The AP reports Eric Starvo Galt was charged in Memphis with first degree murder for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination on April 4. A federal conspiracy charge followed from Washington linking Galt, also known as Lowmyer and John Wilde, to a Birmingham based plot that began March 29 and aimed to injure King through civil rights violations. A 30.06 rifle with a telescopic site was found near a Memphis rooming house after the shooting.
