U S troop deaths reach 100 a week
UPI reports that in the first 99 days of the year 1,361 American servicemen from the Army Navy Air Force and Marine Corps were killed in combat in Viet Nam surpassing the 1965 total of 1,342. The casualty rate averaged about 100 per week with 95 killed in the week ending April 9 and 101 the prior week.

Recount Ordered in Trustee Ballot in School District
Raymond Kirk filed for a recount of the April 2 vote for a seven member School District No. 1 board seat, alleging irregularities in eight precincts and claiming votes were improperly rejected or not counted.
