Private Edward L. Cisna age 19 of Livingston died in New Guinea on March 23. His parents, Mr and Mrs Arthur Cisna, were notified by the War department.
Governor Thomas E. Dewey declared his 15 months in office have pursued genuinely competent and progressive governance. He contrasted state efforts with centralized federal directives and criticized the national handling of the soldier vote issue in a report prepared for a statewide broadcast.
