A gasoline storage tank fire near Nissler in Butte hospitalizes 5-year-old Cathleen Dart with facial burns and injures her 6-year-old brother Thornly. Deputies say a lighted match ignited fumes from an empty 700-gallon tank near a buried filter spout. Both children were taken to Silver Bow General Hospital. Death of Dr Patrick E Kane Native Butte Physician
Dr Patrick E Kane, a veteran physician and surgeon from a pioneer Butte family, died Saturday at his home. He practiced medicine locally and held memberships in Immaculate Conception Parish, the Knights of Columbus, the Elks, and the American Legion. Funeral services are set for Tuesday at 9 am with a high mass at Immaculate Conception Church and burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. He is survived by his widow Frances and multiple children, grandchildren, and siblings who are doctors or dentists.
