Regents Approve 1.9 Million Budget For Tech
The Montana Board of Regents approved a 42.5 million operating budget for the 1972-73 Montana University System, a 4.4 percent rise from this year, with a 5 percent raise for six unit presidents. Faculty increases average about 4.6 percent. Solon faces tax charge in New Jersey indictment
Rep. Cornelius E Gallagher is named in a federal indictment charging perjury conspiracy and tax evasion exceeding 100000 dollars. He allegedly conspired with two former Jersey City officials to hide income of more than 326000 dollars and used 326698 from them to buy bonds under fictitious names. He also bought 495000 dollars in bonds for himself and testified falsely about them. The unindicted coconspirators are serving 15 year terms for extortion.
