American and British forces beat back several German infiltration patrols between Carroceto and Littoria near the Anzio beachhead. Three enemy troops slain and two captured west of Littoria, with other engagements southeast of Carroceto.
At a Tuesday meeting the school board verified election returns and found Richard Donovan’s total reduced by 10 votes due to five votes removed in precinct 5 and five in precinct 3. The new board will meet Saturday to elect officers and discuss finances, with a 4% mills levy proposal defeated. Richard Donovan remains Independent candidate for the new board.
