Miles City Man Killed in Plane Crash
James Walrath 26, an insurance man from Miles City, died when his twin engine Piper Apache struck a high tension line near Acton about 15 miles from Billings. The crash occurred during a return trip from Los Angeles via Billings Great Falls and caused flickering lights in Billings. Survived by his parents in Bozeman, he was single.

State Purchases Additional Silver Bow County Warrants
State Board of Lands and Investments bought another 100000 in warrants to help Silver Bow County meet April pay. The board lifted its warrant limit to 300000 for the fiscal year and now holds 246422 of outstanding warrants. County officials said funds are exhausted and proposed a 500000 refunding bond by July 15.

Two Truckers Hospitalized After Butte Wreck
Two Clarissa Minnesota truckers were hospitalized after a gravel snow wreck on Vernon E. Olson Road. The 41 year old driver suffered bruises and a possible broken arm while the 23 year old relief driver fractured a collarbone. Both men were at St. James Community Hospital. The tractor unit was demolished with losses estimated at 12 000 to 15 000 dollars. Produce bound for Safeway Stores was mostly intact at the scene.

Five Utilities Plan $22 Million Transmission Project
Montana Power Co and four neighboring utilities on Wednesday announced plans for joint construction of more than 570 miles of 230000 volt high capacity transmission lines at an estimated cost of $22 million.
